The Ruskin Laboratory offers to share its experience
and expertise to assist the development of new work
and promote untried ideas. Active since 1995,
it was conceived in order to reach beyond the School,
opening up facilities across Oxford University to creative
individuals and organisations nationally and internationally, and has subsequently become the focus for all departmentally-based research activity.

The activities of the Ruskin Laboratory are an integral part of the Ruskin School and are seen as an essential model for all Ruskin students to witness the breadth and variety of contemporary cultural traffic. Wherever possible, Ruskin students are encouraged to work alongside the creative individuals who are invited to Oxford, helping to develop ideas as well as acquiring hands-on event and exhibition making.
